Lydia (Aletha) hails from Manchester and began her DJ career as a regular contributor to radio. Her eclectic and intriguing acid led track selections and mixes have led to regular residencies for some of the best stations in the UK including Rinse FM and Worldwide FM. As well as feature mixes for electronic publications Mixmag, Ransome Note and DJ Mag. As the radio audiences grew, so did her contact list as tastemakers and promoters began booking Aletha for clubs across the UK including Village Underground, The White Hotel and Lion and Lamb. Her genre-blending club ready sets, which thrust breaks and acid to the forefront with a versatile mixing style, were quickly picked up by some of the biggest brands including a residency for The Warehouse Project in her hometown of Manchester.
If 2022 was about building presence, 2023 If 2022 was about building presence, 2023 was about breaking through; with Printworks, The Cause and Beams added to an impressive gig list, including invites on to Honey Dijon’s Southbank showcase and The Warehouse Projects International debut in Rotterdam. As well as a busy schedule across Europe and beyond, 2023 included the sell-out launch of her own night CITRIC, a packed-out set at Glastonbury and a special B2B with Amaliah on the main garden stage at Love International, Croatia with other summer festival appearances including Dimensions, Parklife and Lost Village to name just a few. With plans for further CITRIC parties and a busy calendar of shows, 2024 looks set to be the year that ALETHA is widely-accepted as one of the finest DJs in the club scene.
